We are back in Texas!

We left Oklahoma Friday morning for Texas.  the weather was great, sunny with little to no wind.

Our first and only stop was at the Texas welcome center where they have a small memorial

We decided to go to Cedar Hill State Park which is south on 35E between Fort Worth and Dallas.   when we checked in the park ranger gave us the "Presidential Suite" of campsites (according to her).  we are on a dead end with a large lot and no neighbors.

Since we are so close to DFW we can hear a lot of traffic noise and air noise..  we are not use to all of this noise..  The park it self is really nice, of course on a large lake.  We did identify one new bird to us.. a Canvas Back..

We took a trip into town (Cedar Hill) for a look and dinner.  we ended up at

it is served family style..

The corn, green beans, mashed potatoes and biscuits were all very good..  I ordered the fried chicken which was very good, Eric ordered the smoked chicken which was very very good!  If you are in Cedar Hill make this a stop for lunch or dinner.

We did look for some Texas beer for our camp fire but we think that Cedar Hill is dry!!!  who would have thought that Texas had dry areas..  so we had a few good ol Wisconsin beers instead!
